STORY
Hello there!
I am Mrs. Sunitha Arun, the founder, and ideator of Art Mission. Contrary to popular beliefs, I would not call myself a born artist. I started off my professional journey as a preschool teacher who was ever passionate about teaching children.
Thanks to Mrs. Tahmina Barker, principal of Small World, who was definitely my chaperone in finding my creative side. I have always wished to impart my knowledge to children with love and care. I was able to achieve this through the knowledge acquired at Chitrakala Parishat and ran a successful stint of art classes at my home in Bangalore. Post this, I wanted my easy and intuitive art techniques to be showcased to a larger audience. The love garnered over the years from my students, and their parents' encouragement motivated me to pioneer art content for the kids. I have been able to incorporate stellar art techniques to aid children in their pursuit of learning art. I created my own methodologies and tried them first with my daughter, resulting in her excelling at all school-level competitions.

During the period 2011 to 2013, over 90% of my students were featured in the kids’ corner section of a local newspaper, CitiPlus.
I have always been in the pursuit of delivering quality art education using innovative techniques to students near and far who would come to my place to learn. My art classes were an instant hit, and with more and more kids pouring in, I had to move into a bigger space. 2 years later, in order to cater to the growing demand, I began art classes and art camps in 6 centers by employing a franchise model. The centers that were set up are mentioned in the sections below. During the pandemic, I decided not to expose children to further screen time by offering online classes. Hence, I authored 16 books (8 levels) as part of Art Mission’s initiative. This, in turn, provided me the opportunity to enable students to bring their drawings to life through the inclusion of the concept of animation. It is now my vision to further allow my handcrafted product to a wider audience, so as to be able to experience the excellent art techniques that I would teach students.
